SLOWLY WE ROT by mistertrece SLOWLY WE ROT by mistertrece
Aerosol spray on canvas, brush. GLOWS IN THE DARK. Inspired by the greatest Death Metal band from Florida, Obituary.
OST: OBITUARY "Slowly We Rot" [link]

And, of course, Tarman [link]

Yeah is an old one, i was cleaning my gallery and i delete it but after watch it for a few minutes, ive some regrets. So here it is again.

Decomposition (or rotting) is the process by which organic substances are broken down into simpler forms of matter. The process is essential for recycling the finite matter that occupies physical space in the biome. Bodies of living organisms begin to decompose shortly after death. Although no two organisms decompose in the same way, they all undergo the same sequential stages of decomposition. The science which studies decomposition is referred to as taphonomy from the Greek word taphos, meaning tomb.

One can differentiate abiotic from biotic decomposition (biodegradation). The former means "degradation of a substance by chemical or physical processes, eg hydrolysis). The latter one means "the metabolic breakdown of materials into simpler components by living organisms", typically by microorganisms.

Five general stages are used to describe the process of decomposition: Fresh, Bloat, Active and Advanced Decay, and Dry/Remains. The general stages of decomposition are coupled with two stages of chemical decomposition: autolysis and putrefaction. These two stages contribute to the chemical process of decomposition, which breaks down the main components of the body.

I never knew about abiotic and biotic decomposition, very interesting. They way our bodies destroy themselves while their surroundings work to destroy them as well. Also green and red are a great color combination :)

That one glows in the dark, it was a cool experiment! Glad you found something interesting, specially when is a "macabre" thing, but i think is macabre as life is, i mean, is natural like the process of the born of a baby!

Exactly! Life is just naturally brutal and sorta gross sometimes. Why be afraid of it, embrace it! And it glows in the dark!?!? That's awesome (a couple of my pieces have glow in the dark paint too, it's fun)
